Juuli 2023 algas pikalt põua käes vaevelnud aiale kosutavate vihmasabinatega. Korralikku vihma, mis kõik põhjalikult läbi kastaks, on küll suht vähe tulnud, aga aed saab hakkama ja voolikutega ringi joosta pole enam vaja olnud. Juuli on aias tavapäraselt kõige ilusam aeg. Juba kuu alguses alustas õitsemist valge floks, tema järel riburada teised. Sõstrad said valmis, aga enamik neist läks lindudele saagiks, sest kirsse-mureleid neil sel aastal süüa polnud. Muru on tasapisi taastunud, aga nüüd on meil uus murutaim: raudrohi. See tegelane ju ennast põuast segada ei lasknud ja nüüd on ta teiste põdemise ajal ennast kibekähku igale poole laiali laotanud. July 2023 began with refreshing showers of rain on the garden, which had been struggling with drought for a long time. There hasn’t been enough rain to thoroughly water everything, but the garden can handle it and there has been no need to run around with hoses anymore. July is usually the most beautiful time in the garden. Already at the beginning of the month, the white phlox started blooming, followed by others in a row. The currants were ready, but most of them went to the birds, because they didn’t have cherries to eat this year. The grass has gradually recovered, but now we have a new lawn plant: yarrow. After all, this character did not let the drought bother him and now he has spread himself everywhere in a bitter hurry while others are suffering. The rudbeckia hirta Summerdaisy’s® ‘Double Choco’ has been delighted by the drought and has grown the greenhouse bed entire front into a bush.

Eelnenud kuumade suvede tõttu piirasin sel aastal tublisti terrassihaljastust ja piirdusin vaid ühe ampli ja paari terrassipotiga. Suuremat õieilu peab nüüd püsikupeenras vaatamas käima. Due to the previous hot summers, I severely limited the patio landscaping this year and limited myself to just one amp and a couple of patio pots. You have to go to the permanent bed to see the greater flower beauty. It seems that mulching the bed has been beneficial, because there was no need to carry water there in July, the plants are growing quite nicely.
