Aprill aias/ April in the garden

This year’s April in the garden was quite normal, although the weather was like in the American mountains. Once it was over 20 degrees, then it snowed again in between. At the beginning of April, the crocuses that started blooming at the end of March continued to bloom, followed by the primroses, and towards the end of the month other spring flowers. Even the tulips started to show their color the end of the month.

In more detail, you can see the spring bloomers of our garden HERE.

Väetis hobustelt/ Manure from horses

We didn’t get to the planned digging in April because of the wet ground, but we did prepare for the starting garden season. We visited familiar horses and brought fertilizer for the greenhouse. Many thanks to them and especially to their hostess who collected the valuable stuff for us!

Metsaelukanuhtlus/ The scourge of forest creatures

Vastukaaluks neilt ilusatelt hiiglastelt saadud heale kraamile tekitasid aias tublisti tööd juurde hoopis väiksemad tegelased. Hetkel on rahu majas.

In contrast to the good stuff received from these beautiful giants, the smaller characters created a lot of work in the garden. Whether it’s a badger or a fox, I don’t know exactly, we didn’t get to set up the camera. After a couple of weeks of plugging the holes and constantly leveling the dug up grass, we bought a spray designed to control wild animals and sprayed the edges of the garden with it. At the moment, there is peace in the house. But if you find a twenty-centimeter hole in the bed, it still makes angry, not to mention the holey lawn. You can’t let the lawn robot loose on this kind of up gouged ground.

Kuu lõpus alustasid õitsemist haralised ploomipuud ja isegi magnoolia, kes harva juba aprillis õisi näitab.

At the end of the month, the plum trees and even the magnolia, which rarely shows flowers already in April, started to bloom.

Aprilli viimasel õhtul said lõkke hakatuseks viimased mullused vaarikavarred ja salveipealsed. Kena kombe kohta aprillikuu viimast päeva tähistada saab lugeda SIIT.

On the last evening of April, the last raspberry stalks and sage tops from last year started the fire. You can read about the nice custom of celebrating the last day of April HERE.
